A map for the confused...

In the comment section of the previous post, I jokingly asked if it would be helpful to have a map to illustration my confusion which ended up with me at a sorority party. Bone confirmed it to be a good idea. As I don't have any fancy drafting software, I created this map on powerpoint and I purposely left off street names so that no stalkers will try to crash any future parties at the party house (of course, those sorority sisters would now be close to 30).

  1. Love the map! If there is one thing I know about sorority girls, they never grow too old for partying.

  2. I can see from where your confusion arose - you - correctly - went to the catty corner house. Norma should have told you to go to the house across the street and 2 doors down!

  3. Great diagram Sage. And, once again, a wonderful story to tell.

Though, and I hate to sound young and Californian, but what the hell is a catty corner? A 4 way intersection?

    Oh, diagonal.

  4. Thanks for that link, V. It must be a regional thing. I've always heard it said as 'kitty corner'.

  5. Murf - I use the phrase kitty corner too.

Sage - Ooh, I see now. It was the LONG catty-corner.

My favorite conversation to use when giving directions.

Start by giving some legitimate directions. Then ask if they know where a well known object is. Say that is not it. Then give some more directions and ask if they know where another well known place is. Say that is not it either. Keep repeating.

  7. I’m glad ya’ll appreciate the map. Rand McNally I’m not.

  8. I almost wouldn't call the reception place kitty corner from N's house. I think 'go north for a block and it's the one on the lefthand corner' would've been better.

  9. I agree with M(urf)about the directions.

Sage, I will begin posting photos of the Governor's Mansion tonight sometime, probably late.
