Photos to help you pass time...

I'm with my Dad on Harker's Island for three days/two nights. We came up here to fish and since we're only here two nights, are camping out at the only hotel on the island (instead of camping on the beach. Today, that turned out to be a good choice due to the weather, but I'll write more about that at a later time. These are pictures from yesterday's fishing off the jetty southwest of Cape Lookout.Fishing wasn't great... Below is a blowfish, you rub it's belly and it'll swell up like this! I caught two of them and a 16 inch puppy drum (the limit size is 18), so they all went back in.
Below is the moonrise, looking across Lookout, toward the lighthouse. We fished till after sunset and ran back through the channel after dark (It was a lot easier than today with high winds and waves and rain and nearly zero visibility. Needless to say, I don't have pictures from today's expedition!).
A final shot of the fading day.
I won't be able to catch up with everyone's blog till next week. Till then, ya'll be good, ya'll hear!

  1. Beautiful sunset photos, Sage. Wave at me as you go near Raleigh, okay?

  2. Blowfish? The delicacy? Ah, I haven't seen a real blowfish before and it looks really cute, so adorable, makes me want to keep one as pet now.

  3. I had not known about blowfish. It looks kind of ute!

  4. I'm torn between enjoying the blowfish picture to lecturing you about teasing the poor thing when it can't breathe....or maybe I should just ask if you caught a Hootie to go with that?

With your limited time, I'm honoured that I was on the list of quick visit blogs.

  5. Beautiful pictures. Horrible weather. Perfect though for a home inspection. It had one minor thing wrong that the sellers have to fix and one plank of wood on the deck I have to replace
Perfect because the inspector could see if it was prone for flooding. Not

  7. I like the last two pictures the best. There's something beautiful about peach colored clouds against a blue background - and I'm lucky to see it at sunrise on occasion.

  8. I look the same when my belly's rubbed. Come to think of it, I always look like that. I, too, love the last two photos. Is Harker's Island in NC?
