Is this the "first-dog-elect" of Honduras?

A few weeks ago I posted about the upcoming Honduran elections with a picture of me hold the rather lively dog of one of the candidates (unlike his master, he wasn't real keen on having his picture taken, but he loved to play). This is "Mel's" dog, who lives in the same neighborhood of a friend. I didn't get to meet Mel, but his dog was wandering the streets one morning (probably while his owner was out campaigning). The elections were yesterday and this morning, according to the BBC, Mel is in the lead and has declared victory. However, only a small percentage of the votes have been counted so it may change and who knows, and of course, the Supreme Court hasn't had an opportunity to vote yet... (slap, you're a bad boy, Sage) I don't know much about Mel, but I like his dog!

  2. Bhakti--I think you know to what I was referring!

I don't know that much about the Honduran court and election system... However, the country seems to be pretty evenly divided between both major parties and, like ours, from what I was told, your choice is usually bad and worse.

(I think we as a nation need to seriously examine the way we select our presidental candidates--since we seem to get the least desirable candidates from both parties--now that I made my political views know... I need to finish my lunch)

  3. I hope their elections go smoother than ours of late. Your below post is making me hungry...3:00 and not lunch yet. I also feel woefully lacking in anything Christmas at this point!

  5. Ok Bhakti, you're right, that cornbread looks awfully yellow to me--funky yellow! And put a cast iron frying pan on your Christmas list. Thanks for the post and picture. It's fun getting reports on people trying my recipes. You're the first though to send a pic of your effort.

To be sure, the actual corn bread was normal corn bread color. The photo was funky. The bread was/is just absolutely delicious!!

p.s. The photo: I have a lot of free time on my hands while I recover from my surgery!!
