Kayak photos while I'm away

I am going to be away from the internet for the next ten, with little access, in a place that will look as different from the photos below as you can imagine.  They'll be salt water there, but craggy rocky islands.  I'll be in Scotland.  Until I return, I'll share some photos I took on Friday, June 16, when a friend and I paddled from Skidaway Island to Ossabaw Island and back, with stops at Raccoon Key and Green Island.  Enjoy the photos:

The Intracoastal Waterway runs through here and there are terrible shoals

  2. I love hiking in Scotland. Have you been to Lismore Island? It's a ferry ride from the mainland (Obon) and a perfect retreat. One B&B when I was there and, of course, a Viking castle. Enjoy and bring back loads of great pictures.

  5. My kids and in law kids just came back from travelling a certain high land trail, travelling on foot some 150 kilometers in 10 days ... they came back sunburned (nobody told them about sun screen)... but otherwise full of awesome stories ... Wishing you a wonderful trip (by water and/ or land)... if on land, you will have haggis and black pudding everyday ... if at sea ... maybe prepacked astronaut food, k?) Anyway, wishing you a very good time. Love, cat.

  14. My wife and daughter loved their two days in Scotland last week. The travel group they are part of moved south after that hitting York and a few other places before doing two days in London.

Today, Monday, June 26th, is the day they are returning to the States.

    Have a great time!

  18. Well, I already know that you had a wonderful trip to Scotland because I'm working backwards as I catch up. I enjoyed your kayaking photos today. I was recently watching a kayaker in a short kayak practicing 360º flips at the base of a small waterfall on the Arkansas River in Salida, Colorado ~ Yikes ~ Not for me!
