On a sour note, I have to report to jury duty this Monday morning. As I'm to be in the downtown area of a city 30 miles away, and must park several blocks away and take a shuttle, and after all this be inside the Federal Courthouse by 8 AM, I’m going to have to get on the road early. This also means that I’m going to have a lot of work to do today, as I’m not sure how much time I’ll have to be in the office this week. The good side of this, maybe a story will come out of it all.

Sunday morning reflections
Thanks to all you who stopped by for the birthday party for Kevin and Diane.
One of the good things about hosting a virtual birthday party is that I didn’t have to worry about cleaning anything up. There were no dirty dishes to wash, no spilled punch to clean up, no left-over’s to be stored away. Therefore, I was able to spend some time outside enjoying a glorious day. The photographs were taken late yesterday afternoon in the pasture behind my house.

The good side of this, maybe a story will come out of it all.

yuck jury duty..thankfully if I ever get the call...my county courthouse is in a smallish city with a parking garage that's right next door to the courthouse and another about a block and a half away.
ReplyDeleteMistress, if it was the County Courthouse, I'd only be a mile from where I live and around the block from my office--I'm playing in the big leagues--this is Federal Court.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to THAT story. With all small details.
ReplyDeleteWow..I really feel sheltered now. I have yet to ever fly a kite. Big A was recently aghast to learn that fact so he went out and bought one. It's still waiting to be flown.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! What a beautiful day. Love the pooch photo, of course. I'll be interested to hear your stories, and how you find the experience
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous day and a beautiful doggie! Good luck with jury duty. They called me earlier, but I got out of it because of teaching. I think they may recall me in May, sadly. I am hoping they forget, lol. =o)
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to have jury duty, but most of the few times I have been called, I had to decline due to weddings that were coming up. I couldn't take the chance of being on a jury and not being able to do the work I needed to for wedding flowers. The one time I did report for duty, I was speedily dismissed. Bah!
ReplyDeleteI got called last year. Showed up and and the thieving attorneys worked out a deal and we were released!! Hope you're as lucky.
ReplyDeleteGautami--I don't what cases are coming up, hopefully there's a real juicy one and I can write a best seller and retire to some trout stream in Montana
ReplyDeleteMurf, GO FLY A KITE (I've always wanted to tell you that!)
Diane, Trisket started shaking when he saw the camera pointed at him, but at least I got a good shot
Jaded, on behalf of the doggie, thanks! We'll have to compare expereinces if you get called
Kenju, do you think I could get off if I said I had to do flowers for a wedding? Nah, it'd never fly.
Pat, as this is my 8th time being called, I've been released all but once--one time I sat on a jury
Sage, I commiserate with your journey tomorrow. I live in the northern-most part of Orange County, CA, and need to be deep in San Diego county tomorrow by 8:00 a.m.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for hosting yesterday's party, and if I may suggest another benefit to a virtual party - no hangover!
sorry to hear about jury duty - ick. maybe you'll be dismissed early :)
