Happy Valentine's Day

Hopefully everybody got through Friday the 13th and are ready for Valentine's Day.  The above Valentine was postmarked (it was a post card) in 1911, so the commercialization of Valentine's has been around for a while. Do you have any plans or traditions that you maintain for the holiday?

  1. Yep, I plan to utterly ignore it like I've done every year since I was 14 and conned into parting with a huge chunk of my weekends pay for a card.
Oh he's also the saint for bees, plagues and epilepsy. A theme perhaps ?.

  4. Not really any set traditions, as every year I like to change things up a bit. Soon I'll be loading up my car with my secret special goody Valentine's bags to deliver. I hope you have a warm, Happy Heart today as well with your loved ones! Happy Valentine's day, enjoy.

  6. The unrelenting commercialization of Valentines Days somehow manages to extract the love. Traditions? I always buy a box of candy and eat it myself.

  7. Norma's been baking scones all morning. We'll visit her lovely old mother with them shortly. I will drive the car as romantically as possible.

  9. Love the old fashioned card. My fiance and I are celebrating next weekend. We had a snowstorm yesterday, so we just relaxed and still celebrated a little. :) Hope you had a nice day!
