Just back from a three day/two night paddle in the Okefenokee and tomorrow I head off for a wedding in North Carolina. I'll write more later, but it was an incredible trip that went well (there were nine of us).
That sounds like an interesting trip. Did you worry about any visitors from the swamp visiting your campsite in the middle of the night? I'm happy that even though you made a major change in your life, you are still doing the things you love. That goes for both work and play...
Maybe I should have been clearer--my nights were spent in a well screen hammock, safe from the buzzing mosquitoes who flew around frustrated only inches from my head... Or maybe you're being a smart aleck about my night paddling (but it does sound like something I'd do and have done)
Terrific post. Your adventures are a great source of vicarious enjoyment for me as my paddling days are quite behind. I've never kayaked but our family canoe got a great workout when the kids were growing up. It's still out back on sawhorses in case we get a flood.
I want to introduce you to my beau, George, sometime. You'd hit it off splendidly and I'd let you men do all the paddling while I take all the lovely photos.
That looks lovely! We're visiting Charleston later this year and my sister has a big kayaking thing planned...I'm a little nervous about it. I'm not outdoorsy at all.

Like Pat^^^^^^^^^^^^said--it's always been the swam critters that kept me to a minimal amount of time in them.
ReplyDeleteStill jealous!
ReplyDeleteI bet your night paddle was amazing. Have a good time at the wedding! :)
