A few months ago, I reviewed a book by a friend of mine since elementary school. Billy Beasley first novel is A River Hideaway. From today through Sunday (September 26-28), the Kindle edition of his book will be on sale for only 99 cent for Kindle users. Check it out! Click here, for my review.
I guess I really do need to get a kindle, although I most assuredly prefer books.
ReplyDeleteI'm still reading books the old fashioned way & don't own a kindle :-(
ReplyDeleteConfession, Judy, I don't have a kindle. I do have a Nook and have read maybe 10 books on it over the past couple of years (about the same number as I listen to on an ipod while at the gym or when walking). Like Agnes, I read most of my books the old fashion way (and I read a paper copy of Billy's book)., This is a promotion of Billy's book and I hope there might be a few of my readers who will check him out.
ReplyDeletecool thanks!

ah cool....i remember that...luckily my son has a kindle...and i have a reader on the PC...
ReplyDeleteI'll have a look!
ReplyDeleteI still read books 'the old fashion way" but I also use a Knidle. Any I like your review. Sounds like an interesting read!
ReplyDeleteI tend to still enjoy holding a book in my hand, feeling the pages with my fingers and having a connection to what the author created. The other day I spoke with my old academic advisor from college, and he has eliminated several thousand books from his home and uses Kindle. Worth a look!
ReplyDeleteI remember that review - so neat that his book is getting so much attention. I don't have a Kindle - I have the Barnes & Noble "Nook". A coworker convinced me to get that instead of the Kindle - not sure that was a good decision, but I've used it a lot.
ReplyDeleteI'm still torn between the two.. eReaders and the real thing. I can read in the dark with the former.. and hold several books in my hand at once. But I still prefer the feel of the real thing. I'm glad for your friend. Your pride is evident. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for tip! I'll check it out.
ReplyDeleteAs long as we're all talking about Kindle. At first I fought the idea of reading anything other than an actual "real" book. A few years ago, I got one as a gift. I've now read a ton of books on my it. I've also read some on my phone and laptop. I don't feel that it is any different from reading a paper version. If I'm into what I'm reading, the delivery system doesn't really matter at all. Of course e-books don't take up any space. That is a total bonus for me!
