Look around my library

A few months ago, Deanna (Friday Night Fish Fry) invited me to join Shelfari—a place where you can put your book titles and reviews online. Over time, I’ve added to the list of books I have there (over 300) and have finally gotten around to posting it onto my sidebar (I had to upgrade the blogger template to do that). If you are like me and like to look at other people’s libraries, I invite you to come on by. I don’t have anywhere near all my books online (and I'm surprised that quite a few of my books I can’t find on Shelfari), but what I have will give you an idea of some of the stuff I read. Enjoy, and let me know if you get a Shelfair site. Click here or hit the sidebar.

  1. Just when you inspired me to read Carl Hiaasen, a friend leaves "The Kite Runner" on my doorstep. I believe you reviewed that one, too. I am part of Librarything.com, similar to Shelfari. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these books. Many times I'll judge a book by its front/back cover and have been disappointed. I want to add Deep Survival to my list. It sounds like my kind of read.

  2. I would never have the time or the patience to put all my books on-line, let alone review them, but I admitre those who do!

  3. Wow, two layout changes over one weekend. You were snowed in and bored, weren't you? :-)

  4. Scarlet: Hiassen is fun--The Kite Runner is a more important book, in my opinion--you'll enjoy it.

Kenju: I don't have nearly all my books online and haven't really written anything about any of them 'cept those reviews that are posted here.

Diane: yes it is. Do you see that Maggie is here too? You should join us.

Murf: I've posted books for months and months--I had to update the design to get the bookcase to load--that's the only reason I changed, then I played around with it but am still not satisfied. But yes, I did this sitting by the fireplace while it was snowing outside.

  5. I'm surprised that you chose blue. ;-) Not that my vote matters but I say keep it as is. It fits.

  7. I've thought about posting a list of books I've read but lately life seems so busy that my reading list is pretty pathetic unless I were to add in the two newspapers and several magazines that I subscribe too.

  8. That book shelf has just cursed me. I haven't read a new book since I put it up! I have 2 new ones ready to read but no time. I've been making Christmas CDS or working on the family DVD or reading Southern Living for recipes or Photography magazines. After the holidays I hope to curl up with a nice story!

  10. I am a member of Shelfari. Never got around exploring it. Maybe I will do it during my winter break or maybe not. I will definitely check yours though.

    Have you tried bookmooch?
