The peoples from Kaliningrad to Sakhalin don't have an Arcadian ideal at the core of their psyche. They have the woods. And it doesn't matter if they are from Dushanbe, they will think of the Birch Woods much as someone from the Australian outback will think of Daffodils; except in a fundamentally different way.
